Performance Excerpts
Many concerts cannot be filmed or videod due to rights restrictions and union agreements with professional symphony orchestras. Here are some extracts from performances over the years, in no particualr order, where filming was permitted.
Rachmaninov Symphony No. 2 in E Minor
Dvo?ák Symphony No. 7 in D Minor, Op. 70
Atterberg Symphony No. 3
Puccini, ‘Vissi d’arte’ from Tosca, featuring Lee Abrahmsen (Soprano)
I’ve conducted opera singers for nearly 40 years around the globe. Australian, Lee Abrahamsen is one of the musically sensitive and insightful sopranos I’ve had the privilege to accompany.
Sibelius Symphony No 3 in C Major, Op. 52
Beethoven Symphony No. 7, Movement IV
Complete Performances
These are some complete performances, unedited, and vision mixed live during the concert. Many of these pieces I have a great fondness for and represent repertoire I believe should be performed with greater regularity.
The Music of Stuart Hancock
I personally regard the young British composer, Stuart Hancock, to be one of the most versatile, inventive and technically secure composers of our time. His recent score to the film soundtrack, Kensuke’s Kingdom, is masterful as are the concert works on this program.
Arnold Bax and Frank Bridge: From Dawn Til Dusk, Lament H117 and Tintagel
The music of Arnold Bax holds a very special place in my heart. His orchestral works today are all but ignored by the major orchestras, but his music should be in the core repertoire of every professional orchestra. This is true, too, of the music of Frank Bridge. On this concert we performed his Lament for Catherine, Age 9, ‘Lusitania’ 1915. The title, evocative of itself, is a heartbreaking piece of music for string orchestra like no other I know.

Musical Theatre Performances
Over the years I have had the privilege of working with some of the finest musical theatre vocalists from the world over. These are a few of my very favourite moments.
Meadowlark (Stephen Schwartz) featuring Liz Calloway
Out There (Alan Menken) featuring Michael Rose with Michael Lampard
Wheels of a Dream (Ahrens & Flarty) featuring Kelli Rhode and Adrian Li Donni
Defying Gravity (Stephen Schwartz) featuring Silvie Palladino
Musical Theatre Recordings
Recording my own music is one aspect of recording activity, but recording the songs of other musical theatre writers and teams is my other passion. Here’s one of the videos from 16 STORIES – THE VIDEO ALBUM
